Totals Betting Systems on the Oakland Athletics

Preview for the 2007 Season
The Oakland Athletics are going to be a very depressing team this season. They lost Barry Zito to the San Francisco Giants last year and that is going to put a damper on their ability to win games this season. One pitcher can affect a team in a greater magnitude than just 1 start out of 5. A pitcher like Zito can break a team out of slumps and/or extend winning streaks.
The Oakland Athletics do not have such a pitcher that can break the Athletics out of a slump this season and they really are going to wish that they did. This is because the Athletics will struggle mightily offensively and will be losing a lot of close games. The Athletics used to be able to win those 1 run games but with a loss of Zito, it will hinder their entire rotation to the point that their bullpen would be worked a bit more. Approximately 2-3 innings every 5 games. That might not sound like much but when any given team only has a few viable relievers, those extra innings add up throughout the year.
So what this all means is that the Athletics will start to feel the loss of a Barry Zito in their starting rotation at about game 30 and it will last until the end of the season. They have already started the season by getting shut out, just watch how they are going to do the rest of the season.
As far as betting the totals, look for plenty of opportunities the bet these Athletics under the total as many opportunities as you can. This is because the Athletics struggle offensively and even with totals around 9 runs, it is going to look like a million when all these Athletics score is 0 or 1 run all season long. Especially good games to bet unders are in divisional rivalry games where there is a historic trend for going under with these Athletics.
