Preview for the 2007 Season
The Cincinnati Reds are one of the greater teams in the National League. Offensively that is! Pitching wise they are one of the worst teams. Sounds like great opportunities for you to bet the over this season, doesn't it? The Cincinnati Reds are rarely ever shutout on the season. They love scoring runs and they do so often.
Another interesting thing to note is that these Reds score a boat load of runs at home. This is because the Great American Ballpark is not "so great" for pitchers. Pitchers get whalloped like it is nobody's business at the stadium. But the Reds are also a very good over bet on the road. This is because their pitcher's are not very good regardless of the stadium that they are pitching at. But it depends on the type of pitchers that they have on the mound when they are on the road.
For example, a home run pitcher would allow many runs at home at GAB and seem like a loser. But on the road, things could be quite different for this pitcher. They generally pitch better on the road. And are therefore pretty bad over bets.
What we do is look for situations in which the Reds have a used up bullpen, a road team that is scoring a lot of runs offensively and a mediocre opposing pitcher and we are almost assured of an over when tapping on the totals for these Reds. |
