Toronto Blue Jays Sign Seven Minor League Players

Toronto Blue Jays has signed contract with seven Minor League players and has extended an invitation to all of them to join the spring training.
The minor leaguers signed were pitchers Geremi Gonzalez, Beau Kemp, Blaine Neal and outfielder Jeff Duncan. They re-signed pitcher Brian Wolfe, infielder Kevin Barker and outfielder Chad Mottola making it to a total of seven.
Geremi Gonzalez, who is 31 years old, spent 2006 season between Mets and Brewers. He made his debut in 1997 playing for the Cubs. From 2003 to 2005, he played with Devil Rays and the Red Sox. Gonzalez has pitched in 131 games including 83 starts.
Beau Kemp, a 26 year old, pitched for Triple A Rochester in Minnesota last year. Kemp was the 31st round pick by the Twins in the 2000 First Year Player Draft.
28 year old Blaine Neal played with Double A Altoon in Pittsburgh last season. He has compiled 113 Major League games with four teams from 2001.
Last season Jeff Duncan played 89 games for Triple A Las Vegas in the Dodgers system. This 27 year old was drafted by Mets in the seventh round of the 2000 First Year Player Draft and had played in 69 Major League games.
The Blue Jays honored Kevin Barker with the R Howard Webster Award last year. He was promoted Toronto where he played 12 games hitting .235. He was offered a contract with Triple A which he declined and re-signed with Minor League
