The Change of Coaches in the NFL
By Michael Williams (8/16/2006)
The NFL sees its change of team coaches every
once in a while. For some teams, the coaches stick around and develop a unique
type of loyalty to the team which they coach. For other teams, there is a
revolving door method where coaches come and coaches go. In the 2005 NFL season,
three new coaches appeared on the scene and were prepared to take their teams
all the way to victory.
New Head Coaches for the Football Teams
One new coach which took over in 2005 is Romeo Crennel who became head coach for
the Cleveland Browns. Formerly the defensive coordinator for the New England
Patriots, Crennel decided that he was up for the challenge of becoming a head
coach for the Browns. His first year went exceedingly well and he fit in fine as
the new head coach for this popular team.
Another head coach who took over the lead in 2005 was Mike Nolan who took over
coaching detail for the San Francisco 49ers. He too was a defensive coordinator
in the past for the Baltimore Ravens and did a great job in his position with
that team. Now, taking over the lead position with the 49ers, Nolan continues to
work wonders with his team members and game play.
Lastly, Nick Saban was named head coach of the Miami Dolphins in 2005. As with
Crennel and Nolan, Saban also has defensive play experience and is more than
able to lead a team to victory.
With the wide array of football experience which each of these new coaches has,
it is easy to see that they will go far in their positions as head coach.
