Team Overview Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are a professional football team based out of Cleveland, Ohio. They are members of the National Football League's Northern Division. The team started in 1946 as a member of the All-America Football Conference which merged with the National Football League in 1950. The Browns have won four All-America Football Conference titles and four NFL Championships.
The Browns are the only NFL team that doesn't print a logo on their helmets. Despite this the Browns have had several logos throughout their years. However, the logo-less helmet has become a trademark of the team. There was only one pre-season game when the Browns had a logo on their helmet in 1965 when they played against the Green Bay Packers. The logo was a brown CB logo.
Since the teams start in 1946 the uniforms of the Cleveland Browns has remained largely the same. The major difference is that their helmets used to be all white until they switched to the orange color in 1952. From 1957 to 1961 the teams had the sides of their helmets painted with the players numbers. In 1960 the Cleveland Browns finally moved to their current brown helmet with a brown-white-brown stripe down the middle.
Their uniforms are typically either solid white pants or orange with brown trim. Their jerseys are either solid brown or white. From 1975 to 1983 the team uniforms consisted of orange pants and briefly in 2003 and 2004. An alternate orange jersey was started in 2002.
In 2006 the team plans on going back to the old uniform style which will be a brown jersey with orange stripe pattern and a dark shade of brown. The pants will only be white and the alternate orange color will be done away with.
