Sports Handicappers - Scamdicappers
By Michael Williams (6/27/2006)
If you are a seasoned online gambler then chances are you have seen them
and/or fell prey to their tricks. If you are just beginning to gamble, watch out
for scamdicappers.
What Are They?
A scamdicapper is a short notation for saying "scamming handicapper".
Who Buys Picks From Scamdicappers?
It is no secret that people tend to go overboard with their plays. After a
long losing streak (or couple), they can find themselves trying to win all their
money back in one game. These are the people that easily fall prey to a
scamdicapper because they are looking for the following:
- A guaranteed winner so that they can win back the money lost.
- An expert's analysis on a game because they no longer trust themselves at
making picks.
- Assurance that they are not the only one's backing a play.
What Are Some Scamdicapper Signs?
Knowing this, a scamdicapper will claim that their picks are "guaranteed" to
win and is backed by very strong systems. They will also throw out terminology
like "Game of the Year", "Game of the Month", "Game of the Week" incessantly.
How can someone have a Game of the Year everyday??? Well, these scamdicappers
claim to and tend to get your money in the process.
Another thing to note is that these scamdicappers know the days people are
most likely to buy their picks. From Thursday-Sunday and Holidays. There are
some cappers that have claimed to have a Game of the Year every major holiday
for the past 5 years. And the reasoning is simple: you have one chance to make a
sale. By putting out a GOY, you give yourself the best odds at getting some
unfortunate soul's money. Because if you don't, someone else will.
Conclusion
There are some trusted
sports handicappers out there but the fact that you have to pay for their
services offsets any edge that they provide. You are much better off researching
your own picks than to pay someone for their picks, even if they may win at a
slightly higher percentage.
