Sports Betting Strategy Probability Baseball Lesson 2
By Peter Portero (3/14/2006)
In our first lesson, we talked about how important it was to take the
intersection of two systems. Now we will talk about how important it
is to use contradiction when analyzing and using sports betting
systems.
Contradictions while betting on systems occur when one system tells
you to bet on the very opposite team that another betting system says
to bet. This happens often. To weed out bad betting systems, we often
make them fight it out.
For example, we take two betting systems: one going for home underdogs
and another going for road favorites and see the results when such a
home team and road team square off. If both systems are legitimate,
then the results should be inconclusive to either side. You should end
up with a roughly 50-50 situation.
If you were to find that the result of the contradiction still favors
one side then it is very likely that the side it favors is a valid
system and the other system either need tweaking or is a statistical
abberation.
