Rueben Patterson Helps Bucks To Win
By Michael Williams (3/5/2007)
Michael Redd’s presence at the sideline seems to have brought luck to Ruben Patterson and also to Milwaukee Bucks. Redd, who has been nursing sprained left knee injury, was present at the match when Milwaukee Bucks defeated Orlando Magic 116-111. This win was very crucial for them since it had come after four straight losses.
31 year old Patterson, who was recently acquired by the Bucks’, was the main scorer with 27 points. Out of these, he scored 14 points in the fourth quarter alone. At the end of the match, Patterson, who is also Redd’s best friend, commented that he always tried to enjoy his game and liked to playing aggressively.
Bucks are having a very rough season this time. They have lost 15 games out of the 18 games that they have played so far. This could be attributed to the loss of Redd who is out because of an injury. But inclusion of Patterson, a veteran for eight years, is thought to have brought new hopes for the Bucks. In the game against Orlando, Bucks finally rediscovered their much needed offense and wrested control of the game in the fourth quarter
At the end of the game, Brian Hill, Orlando Magic’s coach, felt that the hole in the defense was quite big that let the Bucks through and score at will. In his opinion, it was one of Orlando’s worst defense performances. Even their All Star Dwight Howard has similar thoughts about his team’s performance.
The Bucks average 103.2 points per game with Redd in the lineup. Since Redd got injured on January 5, 2007, Bucks are averaging 90.5 points. Redd is due to return and Milwaukee Bucks will be waiting eagerly for him.
