Police Investigate Philadelphia Coach’s Sons
By Michael Williams (3/8/2007)
Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid’s two sons are under investigation. One son was suspected of pointing a gun at a motorist while the other is accused of possessing drug paraphernalia.
Britt Reid was questioned by the police after a man matching his description in a SUV registered to Andy Reid and his wife waved a weapon during an argument with another driver on January 30, 2007. Britt is 21 years old and still lives with his parents. After getting a search warrant, the police found a shotgun and handgun from the SUV. No charges have filed as yet.
It is believed that Britt Reid got out of the SUV, yelled at another driver and then returned to the SUV and pulled out a handgun which he pointed directly at the driver. He then smiled and just drove off. The other motorist took down the license plate number and that is how the car was traced to Andy Reid. The description given by the motorist matched Britt Reid’s description.
Along with the shotgun, the police also recovered ammunition, a container with white powder, four small white pills and a pharmacy bottle containing a green leafy substance from the car, while a pistol and more ammunition were recovered from the house. No charges have been filed so far.
On the same day that Britt Reid got into trouble, his older brother, Garrett was found with drug paraphernalia after his SUV collided with another vehicle. Garrett was taken for toxicology tests to a hospital but the results were still not available.
At this time Andy Reid was away on a vacation and returned home on January 31. He was not willing to comment on both the incidents as yet.
