Pittsburgh Steelers
By Kris Lazaro (10/10/2006)
The Pittsburgh Steelers are the defending NFL champions going into the 2006 season. At the end of last season the Pittsburgh Steelers knocked off the Seattle Seahawks to win the Super Bowl title. If the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to end up in the same place this year they have got a lot of work to do. Not only do they need to replace players at key positions, but the other teams in their division have also strengthened their respective teams over the off season.
The biggest question going into the 2006 is how well quarter Ben Roethlisberger is going to perform. After his serious motorcycle accident it is amazing that he has even made his way back to the field; but through three preseason games he remains uninjured. Fans and coaches are wondering if Roethlisberger is going to be able to duplicate the success that he found last season. Some people say yes, others say no. When it comes down to it nobody will really know how good Big Ben feels until he actually touches the field for the first time during a regular season, full length game.
The Pittsburgh Steelers definitely have a good chance at repeating as the NFL champions in 2006. But if they are going to complete this rare task they will need to sure up some areas of concern before the meat of their schedule arrives. If the Pittsburgh Steelers can get on track early in the season they should make the playoffs and put themselves in position for another title.
