Peyton Manning Silences Critics With Super Bowl Win
By Michael Williams (3/8/2007)
On February 4, 2007, Peyton Manning silenced all his critics by ending his career long pursuit for a championship title and he did it with style putting up a brilliant performance in Miami against the Chicago Bears.
Manning already has a long list of achievement and on that fateful day he added another one by winning the Super Bowl MVP.
Manning is two time NFL MVP on February 4, 2007 he was 25 of 38 for 247 yards and touchdown pass as he helped the Indianapolis Colts to victory over the Chicago Bears with a convincing 29-17.
Manning has been waiting more than a decade to prove his greatness specially with critics who felt that he would only be remembered with likes of John Elway, Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw if he managed to win a Super Bowl. Now, Manning has a championship ring to flash at anyone who dares to repeat this statement.
Critics have been doubting Manning’s ability to win a big game since he was in college in Tennessee. While he played collegiate football, he never managed to defeat Florida and the year he left, his team won the national championship.
These doubts followed Manning when he joined Indianapolis. Manning started the postseason in Indianapolis 0-3 and at the point critics wondered whether he would be able to win a play off game. When he did win it, the next doubts were on his ability to defeat New England. He managed to keep the critics quiet by winning who then went on to say that he would never be able to win the Super Bowl.
Now with this win, Manning has managed to silence all his critics and there will never be a doubt in anyone’s mind about his capability and ability.
