NFL Teams That Have Turned It Around
By Michael Williams (8/16/2006)
Does any team really want to earn the title of
most improved? Essentially being the NFL's most improved team, or even among the
long list, means that your last season, or last few seasons in some cases,
really wasn't up to play. At the end of the day is proves as a remainder of the
fumbles, tumbles and falls of season's past. Must NFL teams really be put
through the torture of remembering that they were once 0-8, it's bad enough that
there's video footage.
The good thing about that is that bad teams do improve, and the most improved
title is just one way of saying, "Somebody noticed." Now a Superbowl ring would
be an even kinder gesture, but that's not how most improved works. Structural
changes are a good gauge of which teams will be apart of the season's Cinderella
story.
This upcoming season, Washington looks to be taking its politically incorrect
name to a whole new level. The Skins have made several savvy signing choices.
Adam Archuleta, a six year veteran with the St. Louis Rams, has joined the
Washington roster. Antwuan Randle-El has taken on a new Skin, helping surge
Washington from a lukewarm standing to most improved and hot.
Cleveland's developed a new team that is bound to largely improve the team's
standing. Cleveland has signed to defensive linemen. Akin Ayodele has left the
warm front of Jacksonville for his new home in Dallas. The revamping Cowboys
signed Ayodele as well as seasoned player, Kyle Kosier. Kosier played in San
Francisco and Detroit before adding Dallas to his resume.
