Additions to the NFL Network
The NFL Network, which will be making its debut this season, has hired former running back Marshall Faulk as an analyst for the networks show NFL Total Access. The network, which has gained attention because it will air football 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, boasts other former players turned analysts as well. Faulk, who has been billed as one of the most articulate football players in the game will offer commentary and insights after major games.
Faulk, who played for both the St. Louis Rams and the Indianapolis Colts, was awarded the Associated Press MVP honors in 2000. He is a welcomed asset to the network. After playing for San Diego state, Faulk was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts. He went on to become offensive rookie of the year for 1994. Faulk will share the spotlight with another analyst Rod Woodson. The hose of NFL Total Access is Rich Eisen. Being able to talk about football from a player and spectator viewpoint gives analysts like Faulk some advantages. They will be able to share with viewers what it is like to be on the field and what goes on during different stages of the game. The pressures players face and also the strategies used will be discussed during the show. The NFL Network hopes to achieve the fan base that ESPN achieved when they first started airing sports all day long. The network plans on airing games played in the United States and in Europe as well.
