Marcus Washington Has Hip Surgery
By Michael Williams (3/26/2007)
Redskins will be facing a serious time regrouping their players for the next season. Many of the prominent ones are getting surgeries done and will probably not be available for practice sessions. Recent one to join the long list of injured players is linebacker Marcus Washington.
Washington underwent an arthroscopic surgery on his left hip. This is Washington’s second surgery this off season. In January 2007, Washington underwent an operation on his left elbow.
The team said that Washington would take a minimum of three months to recuperate from the surgeries. This would serious affect his participation in the workouts which are scheduled to begin in spring.
Washington is not the only player in the Redskins to have surgeries. There is a long list of players who have had operations from when the Redskins’ season ended in December 2006. These include quarterback Mark Brunell, linebacker Rocky McIntosh, safety Vermon Fox, defensive end Phillip Daniels and tight end Todd Yoder.
Brunell had an operation on his left shoulder; McIntosh on his right knee; Fox on pectoralis muscle; Daniels was operated on both his ankles and Yoder had an operation on his left knee.
Left tackle Chris Samuels will have an operation on his knee after he makes his Pro Bowl appearance in Hawaii. While, defensive end Ronaldo is scheduled to have a surgery on his right elbow every soon.
One hopes that all Redskins players can get healthy in time for the new season; otherwise it would be another disappointing football season for the team.
