Kragthorpe Manages To Get Prospects For University Of Louisville
By Michael Williams (3/6/2007)
A lot of hype is surrounding the new members of the coaching staff of University of Louisville. Steve Kragthorpe, who was recently hired as the team’s new head coach, has been busy recruiting members into his team. Along with his coaching staff, Kragthorpe has been successful in assembling a small group of talented young players.
Allen Wallace, the national recruiting editor for Scout.com, feels that Kragthorpe has done a brilliant job. He says that Kragthorpe has shown why he is different from others as it is difficult for most coaches to find players in such a short span of time.
Few others qualified players are also considering a stint with the University of Louisville. Defensive back C J Peake has committed that he would be joining University of Louisville. While Male all purpose back Douglas Beaumont and St. Xavier running back Victor Anderson have also committed. Louisville is waiting for commitment from several prospects which include defensive end Patrick Grant, linebacker Josh Bynes and offensive lineman Kevin Bryant.
Apart from these, Louisville has also got commitments from Illinois running back Dale Martin, and former Super Bowl MVP Phil Simms’ son Matt and several other junior college players. CSTV recruiting expert Tom Lemming feels that Steve has done an exceptional job in recruiting considering that he had just a month or so after Bobby Petrino joined the Atlanta Falcons as their head coach. Lemming further added that Louisville may have only 16 players but these were very good football players and the team would be a high impact team.
