Kings’ Brad Miller Out For A Couple Of Weeks
By Michael Williams (3/1/2007)
Brad Miller, Sacramento Kings’ center, will out till the end of the All Star break after pain in left foot became worse. The pain was caused by a partially torn fascia. Once the pain started troubling Miller, Miller went for an MRI.
Miller did come for the shootaround the day after the MRI but the doctors have suggested that Miller should rest. Miller, who is a 7 footer, experienced pain while walking or putting weight on the foot. According to the doctors, the best treatment for him would be rest.
Miller had injured his left foot in the third game of the season and ended up missing eight games because of it. In January 2007, Miller missed another three games, one on account of flu and two for personal reasons. After this, Miller has been playing well and was part of the Kings’ team that won four games on a trot.
Sacramento Kings’ coach, Eric Musselman, was informed by phone that Miller would not be playing the last four games which are going to be held just before the All Star break.
In Miller’s place Shareef Adbur Rahim will be playing.
Before taking time off because of the pain, Miller was playing 19 minutes per game. This is a lot less that what he averaged last year. Last year Miller averaged 36.8 minutes per game. In the last twelve games, Miller has been averaging 8.4 points with 7.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists.
Miller hopes to be back by February 20, 2007 when Sacramento Kings have their first game after the All Star and they will be hosting Boston.
