Junior College Mens Football Playoff System
Right now, the college football national champion is determined by the BCS system. There are a few people that like the BCS system, but for the most part the majority of people are against it. Simply put, there are too many flaws in the BCS system for it to be effective year in and year out. For this reason, many people have been discussing different ways to determine the eventual champion. One example that keeps coming up time and time again is a playoff system. There would still be problems if a playoff system was put into place, but not nearly as many as there are now.
A playoff system in the game of college football could be just like that in college basketball. A bracket is set up, and then teams from all over the country have to work their way through it to win the title. Of course this sounds good right now, but there are also problems that could arise with this system. For example, how many teams would be included if a playoff system was put into place? Would this result in too many games being played during academic finals? All of these are questions that hinder a playoff system being put into place.
It appears that the BCS system is going to be around for at least the next few years. But even though a playoff system looks like it would be the best way to go, there are still some inherent issues that would have to be sorted out before this could be made possible.
