J.J. Redick's Future in the NBA
By Taylor Tian (4/6/2006)
With the NBA draft too far away, J.J. Redick is readying himself for the
Big Dogs. He is one of two players sharing the United States Basketball
Association player of the year award, which means he is looking pretty good
right about now.
Redick played his last game with Duke as they lost to LSU in the regional
semifinal round of the NCAA tournament this year. Although the loss was
devastating, and Redick played what was probably his worst game ever, this
player has no where to go but up.
Redick is obviously not a fan favorite, unless you are a Duke fan, but he does
have skills. He averaged 27.2 points per game and played for one of the best
colleges in the country. An immaculate shooter, he shot better than 46 percent
from the field. He is one of those players who makes threes look effortless and
his trademark smirk after making one is a reason to hate him.
With his amazing skill he can’t be ignored no matter if you are a Duke fan or
not. Speculation is he will go early in the NBA draft, with few people thinking
any different. It will be interesting to see if his college skills hold up even
half as well when he hits the big time.
