Indiana Pacers’ Players Involved In A Bar Fight

By Michael Williams (3/5/2007)

According to the Police Indiana Pacers’ Jamaal Tinsley, Marquis Daniels and Keith McLeod were involved in a fight with a bar manager after the Pacers lost a home game to Golden State.

After the fight, no one was arrested and no charges were filed. According to Indianapolis police, Lt Doug Scheffel, the investigation would take a few days to complete and only after that charges would be filed.

The police report said that the bar manager of 8 Seconds Saloon might have fractured his jaw and severed a earlobe as a result of the fight. The bar manager had apparently told the police that Jamaal Tinsley had threatened to kill him. While witnesses informed the police that during the fight, Keith McLeod has pushed people. Both, the manager and witnesses, said that Tinsley, Daniels and a man who was with them, punched the manager on the face and head.

The fight took place at around 2:15 a.m. in the club which is located on west side of the city.

Donnie Walsh, Pacers’ CEO, said that the team was aware of the allegations and would not comment on the incident till the police completed all its investigations.

Tinsley denied the incident and said that he was extremely upset with his name being associated with the incident. While Daniels’ agent, Glenn Schwartzman, said that the Daniels was not involved in the fight. However, the players did go to the nightclub to celebrate Indianapolis Colts’ Super Bowl victory.

In October 2006, Tinsley had accompanied his then teammate Stephen Jackson to a strip club. During that visit, a fight broke out and Jackson took out a gun and fired it several times in the air before being hit by a car.

Jackson now faces criminal charges while Tinsley was not charged.
