Eli Manning was born Elisha Nelson Manning in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 3, 1981. He is the starting quarterback for the New York Giants. His father is the former starting quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, Archie Manning. His older brother Peyton Manning is the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts.

Eli attended the University of Mississippi where he achieved many academic honors. Including being on the Honor Roll in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. When he left he was elected to the University of Mississippi Student Hall of Fame. In his professional career he has been best known for his ability to follow poor performances with extra strong outputs on the following game.

Even though Eli had slightly low statistics towards the end of the 2004 season he did help the New York Giants will the NFC Eastern Division Title. During the finale game of the season he managed to through an impressive 78 yard pass. Overall, Eli's first season performance in 2004 with a professional football team was an impressive success. During 2004 he threw over 3,800 yards with twenty-four touchdowns and only seventeen interceptions.

Eli Manning was at his lowest weak point in the 2005 season when his accuracy during passes dropped. Only fifty-three percent of his total passes during the 2005 season were completed which is low for almost any professional football quarterback. Despite this low performance the New York Giants once again drafted Eli Manning in 2006 in addition to another excellent player, Sinorice Moss who came from the University of Miami.
