Football - Deliberations Imminent Over David Carrs 

David Carr was suppose to prove this season that he was the right person to lead the Houston Texans. However, Carr has been inconsistent and has many major injuries. Due to Carr’s inconsistency, Texans once again did not do well and ended up having an extremely bad season. This is the quarterback’s fifth season and was the top overall draft pick in 2002.

Everyone is wondering Carr will get another chance to prove himself. Coach Gary Kubiak was reticent about Carr’s future prospects with the Texans. He said that Carr would be evaluated like every other player and a decision would only be taken after getting others views and opinions.
It was expected that Carr would perform very well under Kubiak, who is extremely offensive minded. However, it did not happen. Carr had just 2 touchdown passes in the last 10 games ended up with more interceptions than touchdowns for the first time since 2003.
Carr still has two more left on a contract option which he received before this season. He is trying not to think about the possibility of not returning to the Texans as it would make him feel miserable.
Carr said that he thought the Texans were moving in the right direction and they were bound to a Super Bowl. He also mentioned that he would like to be part of the team who wins and just thinking about not being part of that team, made him feel depressed since he has very good friends in the team.
Everyone thought that early in the season, Carr would pick up his game and start performing. However, he went from bad to worse and ended up having two of his worst performances in the last third of the year. These were a 32 yards passing when Texans beat Oakland and 4 interceptions in game which they lost to New England.
The question that awaits Texans is that if they do decide to drop Carr, who will replace him as he is the only quarterback in the franchise? Texans would not be able to draft an immediate starter with the eighth pick and they do not know how much value Carr would have in a trade.
