Super Bowl XLI has been termed by experts as the clash between Indianpolis Colts’ highly vaunted offense led by Peyton Manning and the Chicago Bears’ defense. It is for the first time in the history of the NFL that both teams competing for the title have African American coaches.
Chicago Bears won the Super Bowl in 1986. But the Colts’ have never been able to win a league championship ever since they moved from Baltimore in 1984. Colts’ coach Tony Dungy is confident that his team can perform in any sort of game and at any occasion. He highlighted how the Colts needed to score 30 points in the second half against New England and managed to do that it without any problems and even won the game.
It is the first time that Tony Dungy, Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison have made to the Super Bowl. They want ensure that this trip is a memorable one. Peyton Manning, who has a dream run throughout the season, is the center of the Colts’ offense. He almost single-handedly scripted the Colts’ victory against New England to win the AFC championship.
The only person in the Bears who can get to Manning is linebacker Brian Urlacher. According to Urlacher, the only way to contain Manning is to rotate the players continuously in and out. Colts’s linebacker Cato June feels that stopping Bears’ quarterback Rex Grossman and making him uncomfortable would be the key in stopping Bears’ running the game.
Both the teams are excited about the game. All the players are upbeat and want to save their energy and their emotions for the big event. It is going to be an exciting clash between the best defensive team and a team with an improving offense.
