Broncos Offer $100K Reward In Williams Case
By Michael Williams (2/7/2007)
Broncos’ players are offering a $100,000 reward through Denver Crime Stoppers for any information that leads to the arrest and filing of charges against the suspect or suspects in the shooting death of cornerback Darrent Williams. This reward is in addition to the $2,000 being offered by Denver Crime Stoppers.
As the struggle to find the suspect or suspects continues, there is one man who is being held for questioning the drive by shooting of Williams. This arrest has made the family of Willie Clark fearful. Clark, 23, was arrested after his name popped up in the investigation. Clark is being held for an alleged parole violation that is completely unrelated to Williams shooting death.
Michael Andre, Clark’s attorney, has refused to say whether Clark has been questioned by the police on Williams’ case. The police, in the mean time, informed that they are hoping Clark would provide information that could help solve the Williams shooting since Clark’s name had come up in the investigation. Andre had earlier informed that Clark had no information regarding the shooting.
Darrent Williams was shot as he was riding away in a stretch Hummer limousine from a New Year’s Eve party that was held in a nightclub. The police have not informed about the motive of the shooting though it was said that a fight had taken place in the nightclub.
Clark’s lawyer informed that Clark had grown up in the neighborhood as Brian Hicks who is registered owner of a 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe that matches the description of the vehicle used in the shooting. This description was given by eye witnesses. However, Hicks was in jail on drug charges when Williams was shot.
