Bonds and the Media 2
By Morgan Dawies (9/6/2006)
Throughout his career, Barry Bonds has never been
very well liked by the media. He has always been thought as of being too into
himself, and not willing to cooperate with reporters in anyway. This has given
him a bad reputation around the league, and one that he often times feels
comfortable with. On many occasions, Bonds’ teammates have spoken out and stated
that they usually do not have contact with him in any way, shape, or form. But
the funny thing about this is that after Bonds passed Babe Ruth for second on
the all time home runs list, he spoke about how much his teammates mean to him.
In addition to his problems with the media, Bonds has also found himself at the
middle of the Major League Baseball steroid scandal. This has marred most of
Bonds’ achievements, and many people have spoken out against him publicly. The
steroid investigation is ongoing, and Bonds’ name is sure to come up time and
time again.
But despite his relationship with the media, he has always been one of the most
productive players in the game. It is just a shame that he will not always be
remembered for the way he played.
