Big Ten Conference
By Kris Lazaro (10/10/2006)
Year in and year out the Big Ten Conference is one of the best in the nation. Even though it may not be the best of the best, the teams from the Big Ten can always hold their own. Looking at the 2006 season it is safe to say that this is going to hold true once again.
The early favorite to win the Big Ten Conference is the Ohio State Buckeyes. They have most of the key components back from last year’s team, and this should help them to make a run at both the conference and national title.
Chasing after the Buckeyes will be the Penn State Nittany Lions. They only lost one game in 2005, and are looking for a repeat performance this year. In order to do so the Nittany Lions will have to replace a number of players including quarterback Michael Robinson.
Michigan is also looking to get back into the mix this season. They fell off a bit this year, but they have a lot of experience on both sides of the football.
And of course every year in the Big Ten Conference there are a couple teams that surprise people. This year watch out for Michigan State and Northwestern. They have the ability to beat some teams that are considered conference front runners.
The Big Ten Conference is preparing for another great season in 2006. With a large number of top notch teams there is no reason to think that there will not be many good games again this year.
