Betting Football Totals for Easy Unders
By Kris Lazaro (12/11/2006)
Playoff football means easy unders. If you want to increase your betting options, look at over-unders. You can bet on totals easier than you can on sides. The reason is simple: there is a large range at which totals can be set. The lowest a total would be set is about 34. The highest is about 54. But games could result in scores as low as in the teens and as high as the 70s-80s.
Sometimes there are two teams playing each other with a lot of playoff implications. In games like these, there is a lot of intensity, particularly on defense. If both teams are good at defense to begin with, makes your Under look really good.
Such a perfect game falling into the system was the Baltimore Ravens vs. Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday 12/10/2006. Yes, this game was a good one because both teams are in the playoffs hunt. The Ravens were 9-3 and leading their division. They are fighting for home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The Chiefs were sitting at 7-5 and in the thick of playoff hopefuls in the AFC. Both teams want wins big time because they were both coming off a loss. We expected both teams to play playoff style football. They did. The score at half time was 6-0.
