Betting on Basketball

Basketball created by Dr. James Naismith in 1891 is today a large spectator sport with several individuals that hold world fame. Basketball is definatly one of the most exiting sports to bet on anything can happen, literally, until the very last second.
It is one of the most popular sports in the United States and in also very poular in the South America, Europe, Asia, and the former Soviet republics.
NBA, National Basketball Association
The National Basketball Association (NBA), formed in 1946, is the leeding proffesional league in north america. In a regular season of NBA each team plays 82 games half home and half away matches. In February the annual NBA All-Star Game is launched and the NBA is paused. The best performaning player in the game is rewarded with a Game MVP award.
In the end of April, the NBA playoffs commence with eight qualifying teams, one of the most popular betting events in the US. The NBA Finals are held annually in June, the victor in the NBA Finals wins the Larry O´Brien Trophy.
NCAA College Basketball
The largest league is the NCAA Men´s Division I Basketball Championship, with 65 of the top college basketball teams. This is a 20 day tournament also known as "March Madness" or the Big Dance. It has become one of the most prominent sports events in the US and definatly popular for betting.
WNBA Womens National Basketball Association
The Womens National Basketball Association league is growing in popularity and bettors are taking the league seriously.The association was created in 1996 and the league began in 1997. The first woman to score in the league was Penny Toler and Lisa Leslie did the first dunk score in the league.
