American League versus National League
By David C Terr (7/25/2006)
American League teams have dominated the National
League at the start of the 2006 season and are providing bettors with excellent
opportunities to win big money. With a 63% win percentage and cashing in +43
units for their backers, AL teams have been undervalued by an average of 24
points during Interleague play. This is not an isolated case but a sign of
things to come.
AL teams finished 2005 with a 140-116 record going +17 units. The NL only has 2
viable teams right now: Mets and Cardinals. And due to Interleague play, the
Cardinals are in the midst of an 8 game losing streak. What a joke. You could
make the case for 7 teams in AL: Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays, Twins, Tigers,
Indians, Athletics. At least those 7 teams are definitely better than the third
best NL team.
We have written other pieces identifying home teams in Interleague play as a
very strong angle and combining these 2 angles we see very startling
information. AL home teams have not only won 70% of their games this season but
are +76 units over the past 3 seasons. NL home teams have had better than 50%
seasons versus the American League every season but are 45% this year.
This just goes to show you that the advantage AL home teams have from having a
very viable DH combined with the fact that AL teams are stronger produces one of
the simplest and easiest betting systems around.
