AFC West

AFC West
You may not hear a lot about the AFC West in the media, but the four teams that make up this division are going to make some noise in 2006. The AFC West teams are often times overlooked because of their location, but this does not mean that they cannot play top notch football; this will be proven once again this season.
There are two frontrunners in the AFC West going into the season; the Denver Broncos and the San Diego Chargers. Both of these teams were strong last season, and they are looking to take this momentum into 2006. The Broncos must make a statement this year because they have been close to making a run at the Super Bowl over the past couple of seasons; there time at the top may be running out.
But to go along with these two teams are the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs. Out of these two teams, the Chiefs are very intriguing. They ended last season on a nice run, and it appears that they have improved in some areas of the summer. But if they are going to win the AFC West they are going to have to fight off the other three teams.
When it comes down to it the AFC West is going to be a dog fight. Every team feels that they should be able to win the division. The one that actually comes out on top will be the team that can perform well on both sides of the ball.
