AFC North
By Kris Lazaro (10/10/2006)
Last season the Cincinnati Bengals won the AFC North division over the heavily favored Pittsburgh Steelers. It is amazing to think that the Steelers did not even win their division, yet they went on to win the Super Bowl. Before the season has even kicked off, the battle for the AFC North title is already starting to heat up. All four teams had some personnel changes in the off season; some for the better, some for the worse.
The majority of people feel that the AFC North title will go to either the Steelers or the Bengals in 2006. But do not make the mistake of forgetting about the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens. Even though both of these clubs had a down year last season it does not mean that they will not be able to regroup in 2006. Both teams picked up some key players in the off season, and are looking to use this to their advantage. This is particularly true for the Baltimore Ravens. Steve McNair is now guiding the offense to go along with one of the best defenses in the league.
The AFC North battle may be the most intriguing of the 2006 season. All four teams have a legitimate chance to win the division. Not to mention the fact that the defending Super Bowl champions are in the AFC North. If you want to watch some great football this season the best thing you can do is keep an eye on the AFC North; you will not be disappointed in the long run.
